Event: Adversary > Amended Complaint, Counterclaim, Notice of Removal, etc ...

Filing Requirements:

  • Third-Party Complaint
    A Motion and Order for Leave to File a Third-Party Complaint must be filed when the Third-Party Complaint is filed 14 days after serving its original answer. (Refer to Rule 14 Fed. R. Civ.P .)
    Note: No filing fee is required.

To File Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.
  2. Select [Adversary > Amended Complaint, Counterclaim, Notice of Removal, etc ...].
  3. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).
  4. Select [Third-Party Complaint] from the event list.
  5. Browse to select the Third-Party Complaint (.pdf file).
    Note: Any supporting documents and the Proof of Service may be added as attachments to this document.
  6. Select the party filer.
  7. Select the party(s) against whom the Third-Party Complaint is filed. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.
  8. Modify the text as appropriate.
  9. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).
    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately e-mailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
