Filing Requirements:
- Third-Party Complaint
A Motion and Order for Leave to File a Third-Party Complaint must be filed when the Third-Party Complaint is filed 14 days after serving its original answer. (Refer to Rule 14 Fed. R. Civ.P .)
Note: No filing fee is required.
To File Electronically:
- Log into CM/ECF.
- Select [Adversary > Amended Complaint, Counterclaim, Notice of Removal, etc ...].
- Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).
- Select [Third-Party Complaint] from the event list.

Browse to select the Third-Party Complaint (.pdf file).
Note: Any supporting documents and the Proof of Service may be added as attachments to this document. - Select the party filer.
- Select the party(s) against whom the Third-Party Complaint is filed. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.
- Modify the text as appropriate.
- Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).
Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately e-mailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
