Event: Adversary > Amended Complaint, Counterclaim, Notice of Removal, etc ...

Filing Requirements:

  • Amended Complaint
  • May need to file Motion and Order for leave to file an Amended Complaint OR obtain consent of adverse party (Refer to Rule 15 Fed. R. Civ.P .)

To File Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.
  2. If required, electronically file the Motion for Leave to Amend Complaint and Proposed Order OR Consent of adverse party BEFORE filing the Amended Complaint. [Adversary > Motions > Amend Complaint]; [Adversary > Miscellaneous > Proposed Order];
  3. Select [Adversary > Amended Complaint, Counterclaim, Notice of Removal, etc ...], to file the Amended Complaint.
  4. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).
  5. Select [Amended Complaint] from the event list.
  6. Browse to select the Amended Complaint (.pdf file). 
    Note: Any supporting documents and the Proof of Service may be added as attachments to this document.
  7. Select the party filer.
  8. Select the party that this filing is against. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.
  9. Refer to the Complaint.
  10. Enter nature of suit and/or reason for amendment in text box.
  11. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).
    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately e-mailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
