Case upload allows the filer to open a case with one CM/ECF screen.

Note: It is important to complete all steps in this procedure.

Important! Case Upload may be used for complete filings. Use the conventional ECF System - Open a BK Case if missing schedules, statements, statement of monthly, employee income records, or Chapter 13 Plan; or paying filing fees in installments or filing for a waiver of filing fees.

Instructions:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.
  2. Select Bankruptcy.
  3. Select Case Upload.
  4. Browse to select the Case information (.txt file).
    Important! Complete Social Security Number must be included in debtor (.txt file).
  5. Browse to select the complete Petition (.pdf file).
    Important! Redacted Social Security Number must appear on PDF copy of Petition.
  6. Browse to select the List of creditors (matrix) (.txt file).
  7. Browse to select the Statement of Social Security Number (.pdf file).
  8. Browse to select the Certificate of Credit Counseling for Debtor (.pdf file).
  9. Browse to select the Certificate of Credit Counseling for Joint Debtor (.pdf file).
  10. Browse to select the Statement of Monthly Income (Means Test) (.pdf file).
  11. Browse to select the Employee Income Records for Debtor (.pdf file).
  12. Browse to select the Employee Income Records for Joint Debtor (.pdf file).
  13. Browse to select the plan (.pdf file), if applicable.(.pdf file).
  14. Save the Notice of Electronic Filing.
  15. Assign the Judge/Trustee.
