Event: Bankruptcy > Judge/Trustee Assignment

Run the Judge/Trustee Assignment program in CM/ECF after the case has been filed and creditors have been uploaded. The Judge/Trustee Assignment will set: program in CM/ECF will schedule the 341 meeting and assign the Judge/trustee for:

Chapters 7 & 13  Assigns Judge and Trustee; Schedules 341 Meeting
Chapter 11 Assigns Judge only
Chapter 12 Assigns Judge only

If the Judge/Trustee Assign fails, verify that the correct office/county is on the case and that creditors were uploaded.

Note: If several cases are filed the same day, it is suggested that you open all cases and then run the Judge/Trustee Assignment. The possibility of the getting the same 341 meeting time and trustee are greater.

This entry must be made the same day a case is filed.

Instructions:

  1. Select Bankruptcy.
  2. Select Judge/Trustee Assignment.
  3. A list of your cases that were assigned a 341 meeting date/trustee/Judge will appear on the next screen. No docket number is given to this entry. Note the assignment(s).

Notes:

  • Chapter 11: 341 Meetings are Scheduled by the U.S. Trustee’s Office. 
    • The Judge/Trustee Assignment assigns the Judge only.
    • The U.S. Trustee's Office will schedule the 341 Meeting AND make an entry on the Court's docket.
  • Chapter 12: 341 Meetings are scheduled by the Clerk's Office. 
  • If opening a Chapter 13 case (through the Open a BK Case) and filing a Chapter 13 Plan, continue with Chapter 13 Plan procedure.
